Breedon Cement is a world renowned construction materials group supplying cement, concrete and other essential materials to the construction sector. Breedon Cement operate over 100 quarries, 50 asphalt plants and two cement plans - of which the Hope Cement Works is the largest cement manufacturing plant in the United Kingdom.

Fortunum was selected by Breedon Cement in 2024 to supervise and support the Breedon project team in delivering significant upgrades to the Hope Cement Works site. Hope Cement Works is undergoing substantial improvement projects, a number of which Fortunum are proud to help deliver.

Fortunum have provided contract, compliance and stakeholder Management to the Primary Crusher and the Cement Mill projects through a combination of on-site and off-site management approaches, including HSE compliance and risk management, contract and commercial management, contractor and stakeholder communications and improvements and overhauls to Breedon Cement's internal project management procedures and processes. The Primary Crusher project has presented a number of challenges, including managing international business partners, 24-hour site working

​These projects were the start of an exciting new working relationship between Fortunum and Breedon Cement, and we are thrilled to have been trusted to supervise such a recognised and important site in the construction sector. Since these projects were completed, Breedon have entrusted us to be the Client and Principal Contractor representative on the following projects
